Barcelona was a total culture change. The city is vibrant, colourful and just generally exciting. While I was there I rented an apartment just off the main street, La Ramblas. The location was perfect, it was a short walking distance from the main strip with many restaurants and great shopping just around the corner. There were plenty of touristy things to see such as the Arc de Triomf, take a trip up Mount Tibidabo (WARNING: Food is expensive on the mountain. 16 Euro for 1 pizza - sizing below) to get great panoramic views of the city. The gothic architecture was a highlight of my time in Barcelona along with the amazing spanish cuisine. I must say though the worst bit about the trip, the biggest downfall was the heat, especially in the underground tunnels connecting the tubes. Keeping in mind that I am extremely sensitive to heat so if you are thinking about going it probably wont be affecting at all. All in all I had an amazing time in Barcelona and would recommend it to all of my friends and family.
